„1 kg of ”A’ grade white rice – Hungarian, gluten-free white rice

A Valoryz „A” grade white rice 100% white rice, sourced from Hungarian farms. This husked, light-coloured rice is quick to cook and easy to portion, making it ideal as a side dish, in one-pot rice dishes, as an addition to soups, in fillings and in casseroles.

The advantages of white rice are its short cooking time, its consistent texture and the fact that it is easy to season. It can be used in Hungarian, vegetable, fish, meat and Asian-style dishes, as it absorbs the flavours of spices, sauces and vegetables well.

Hungarian white rice with a low arsenic content

Valoryz white rice is grown in Hungary. The fact that it is grown domestically means the supply chain is shorter and easier to trace than that of a significant proportion of imported rice, which is less traceable and sourced from further afield.

Low arsenic content! This is an important quality consideration for rice, as the rice plant is capable of absorbing arsenic from the soil and irrigation water. The Hungarian growing region and the controlled processing environment therefore represent not only a difference in origin but also a difference in quality.

Nutrients in white rice

The main nutrient in white rice is carbohydrate in the form of starch; it also contains natural rice protein. Vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6 and E, and phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, potassium and selenium also contains.

  • Carbohydrates: It works well as a cooked side dish and is an easily portioned source of energy.
  • Rice protein: the natural plant protein found in white rice.
  • B vitamins: It may contain vitamins B1, B2, B3 and B6.
  • Mineral materials: It also contains phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, potassium and selenium.
  • Vitamin E: It is one of the natural plant-based ingredients in rice.

Gluten-free side dishes for everyday cooking

White rice is naturally gluten-free, so it is ideal for diets where rice-based alternatives are needed instead of wheat-based side dishes. Once cooked, it is suitable as a side dish, in soups, with meat and rice dishes, vegetable rice, stuffed peppers, stuffed vegetables and casseroles.

As polished rice, it cooks more quickly than brown rice. This is particularly handy if you want to prepare a firm, easy-to-handle side dish with a shorter cooking time.

Suggested method of preparation

Rinse the rice before cooking. You can briefly fry it in a little cold-pressed natural oil, then season with salt and add twice the amount of water. Bring to the boil, then cook, covered, over a low heat until tender. White rice is usually 10–15 minutes will be completed by then.

For fluffier rice, leave it to rest, covered, for a few minutes after cooking, then fluff it up with a fork. For fillings and casseroles, it’s best to cook it until it’s slightly firmer so that it retains its texture during further baking or cooking.

The difference between white rice and brown rice

A white rice A parboiled, lighter-coloured variety of rice. It cooks more quickly, has a milder flavour, and is ideal for dishes where the flavours of the spices, vegetables or sauces take centre stage.

A brown rice In the case of brown rice, the outer layer of the rice grain is retained; this part contains a significant proportion of the fibre, minerals and other plant compounds. For this reason, brown rice is darker, chewier, takes longer to cook and has a more pronounced rice flavour.

What should you choose to go with it?

If you’re looking for a gluten-free ingredient for baking, pancakes, breading or thickening, the white rice flour, brown rice flour and organic millet flour It goes well with white rice.

For rice salads, vegetable dishes and cold side dishes, the cold-pressed natural oils give a more distinctive flavour. For rice-based desserts, porridges and sweeter dishes, the plain dried fruit are suitable.

If you want to eat more fibre, the Apple fibre and the Apple Pectin with Inulin It can be used as a separate addition. For homemade cakes, fillings and recipes with a bit more character, the sparrows …are also well connected.
