What is almarost?
The pectin in apple cider is the most valuable dietary fibre because of its water solubility, which ferments in 100%. Pectin is an excellent nutrient for intestinal epithelial cells, intestinal bacteria, and supports the immune system which is linked to the intestinal tract. Apple seeds also contain significant amounts of vitamin B-17 and quercetin, the latter known for its natural anti-inflammatory properties.
The biological effectiveness of dietary fibres is determined by their solubility in water.
They can be:
- soluble in water, e.g. pectins
- water insoluble, e.g. cellulose
